The 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) held May 9-10, 2026, at Eko Hotel & Suites, Lagos, was packed with fun, jubilation for winners, laughter, intrigues and jaw-dropping moments. It was indeed an award ceremony to remember.
The red carpet was an event within an event and many attendees came prepared, dressed to fascinate, amaze or conquer: it was agog with bold and electrifying styles. The AMVCA red carpet was all about bold storytelling, avant-garde designs and “wearable art”.

The evening had a surfeit of bespoke couture and exceptional fashion statements. It was hard to decide who was the best-dressed celebrity as they filed past for the photoshoot on the red carpet.
However, reality TV star, Sultana Farida, whose outfit was in a class of its own, emerged best dressed female of the night.
This year’s edition, menswear stepped up: Men’s fashion took a new dimension: Cropped jackets, lace agbadas, diverse styles and colours of well-tailored suits were the order of the day.
The red carpet was “smoking hot” with exquisite designs in beadwork, leather, watches, utensils and bric-a-brac assembled on fabric, feathers, avant garde designs, mixed media wearable art and bread outfits, among other sensational attire.
