Queen of tracks Tobi Amusan on Monday won the Nigerian Women’s 100m Hurdles title for the fourth time at the ongoing 2024 Nigerian Olympic Trials in Benin City, Edo State.
According to Making of Champions, the Commonwealth gold medalist in Birmingham, powered through to the finish, clocking a time of 12.78s (0.0) ahead of Adaobi Tabugbo who finished 2nd in 13.33s.
In the other events at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Chukwuebuka Enekwechi won his fourth consecutive Shot Put National title, and he needed just three attempts to clinch the win.
Despite Sunday’s rains which led to poor throwing conditions, Enekwechi had to stop halfway after securing the win with a mark of 21.37m.
Alex Chukwukelu is the National Men’s champion after he clocked a time of 13.92s (-0.1), beating Wisdom Great Musa who came through in 14.44s for 2nd.
In the men’s Long Jump final, Charles Godfred exploded to a massive 8.12m. That was his third time surpassing 8 metres as he is the National Leader with 8.14m and a windy 8.19m in the US where he competed for University of Minnesota.
