Amupitan: Tinubu committed to free, fair elections – Omale

The chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Chief Benjamin Omale, has commended Governor Hyacinth Alia for identifying with the newly appointed National chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), Professor Joash Amupitan by attending his inauguration at the state house.

While commending Amupitan’s nomination as INEC chairman based his on competence and background as a constitutional lawyer, Omale reiterated commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to free, fair and credible elections.

He expressed confident that the new INEC chairman would bring to bear his deep sense of justice, equity and fairness, needed to administer his office.

Omale maintained that Amupitan would give Nigerians hope for a better general election in 2027 with the off-season Anambra governorship election scheduled for November 8, 2025. He also called on all election stakeholders, security agencies, political parties and their candidates as well as the electorates, to abide by INEC guidelines to deliver a credible election.
