Pastor Ola Amuda has commended Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa and security agencies in Ondo State for what he described as decisive efforts in curbing insecurity and ensuring a peaceful Easter celebration.
Speaking in Akure at the close of the Easter festivities, Amuda, a former aide to the late Olusegun Agagu, said residents had been gripped by anxiety in the days leading up to the holiday. This followed reported cases of kidnappings and security breaches, including incidents within government health facilities, as well as alleged threats from terrorist groups.
He noted, however, that swift intervention by the state government and coordinated action by security operatives helped to defuse tensions and restore public confidence. According to him, the period ultimately passed without the feared escalation of violence.
Amuda praised Ayedatiwa as a “silent achiever”, highlighting what he described as the governor’s commitment to peace and willingness to provide the political backing required for effective security operations. He added that the impact of collaboration among agencies, including the police, the army, and the Department of State Services, had become increasingly evident in recent months.
Particular commendation was also given to Adetunji Adeleye, commander of the Amotekun Corps in Ondo State. Amuda said Adeleye’s sustained efforts, alongside those of other security leaders, had contributed significantly to stabilising the security situation.
Reflecting on recent reports detailing a series of security incidents over the past eight months, Amuda suggested that the government had quietly implemented measures to counter persistent threats. He maintained that these actions were now yielding tangible results.
While congratulating Christians on the Easter celebration, Amuda urged residents to continue supporting the state government and security agencies. He also called on the public to remain prayerful and cooperative, stressing that sustained peace would depend on collective responsibility.
He concluded that the current stability should be reinforced through continued vigilance and public backing for the administration’s security initiatives.
