Amstel Malta has celebrated women in Abia State with business grants and beauty gifts at the state’s annual August Meeting held at the New Government House, Umuahia, on Friday, August 28.
The event brought together women from Abia and those living outside the state to reconnect with their communities, celebrate their heritage and discuss issues affecting their communities.
As part of its activities at the gathering, Amstel Malta awarded business grants to five women to support their businesses and help them pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions.
The event was attended by the Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti; the First Lady, Mrs Priscilla Chidinma Otti; and the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Dr Maureen Ijeoma Aghukwa.
The Commissioner also awarded business grants to female entrepreneurs, adding to the empowerment drive at the event.
Amstel Malta also partnered with Zaron Cosmetics to provide specially curated beauty packs to attendees. The partnership, which builds on their collaboration at last year’s August Meeting, was aimed at encouraging women to take time to celebrate themselves and feel confident.
Speaking at the event, Senior Brand Manager, Amstel Malta, Francis Obiajulu, said the August Meeting demonstrated the impact women could make when they came together with a shared purpose.

“August Meeting is a great example of what happens when women come together with purpose and a shared commitment to their communities,” he said.
Obiajulu said Amstel Malta was proud to support occasions that recognised women beyond their everyday responsibilities.
“Our partnership with Zaron adds another dimension to that experience, reminding women that while they continue to show up for their families and communities, they should also make time to celebrate themselves,” he said.
Also speaking, Senior Manager, Marketing and Communication, Zaron Cosmetics, Aderinsola Adetunji, said the company was pleased to continue its partnership with Amstel Malta in celebrating women.
“Women give so much to their families, communities, and the people around them, and moments like this are an opportunity to remind them to also take time for themselves,” she said.
Amstel Malta had earlier taken its women-focused August Meeting activities to Enugu State, where it also recognised women for their contributions to families and communities.
The brand said its continued participation in August Meetings across the South-East reflects its commitment to supporting and celebrating women throughout the year.
