Amstel Malta celebrates South-East women with business grants

Abia-1

Amstel Malta has used this year’s August Meeting in Enugu and Abia states to celebrate women and support their economic empowerment through business grants.

The August Meeting, a longstanding tradition among women in the South-East, brings women from home and abroad together to reconnect with their communities, deliberate on issues affecting them, support one another and contribute to local development.

This year, Amstel Malta sought to broaden the celebration by recognising women not only for their contributions to their families and communities but also for their individual aspirations and achievements.

As part of the initiative, the brand provided business grants to female entrepreneurs in Enugu and Abia to enable them to strengthen their businesses and pursue their ambitions.

In Abia, five women received grants from Amstel Malta, while the state government also provided additional support to female entrepreneurs.

Speaking at this year’s August Meeting, Senior Brand Manager, Amstel Malta, Francis Obiajulu, said the tradition demonstrated the strength of women when they came together around a common purpose.

“August Meeting is a great example of what happens when women come together with purpose and a shared commitment to their communities.

“At Amstel Malta, we are proud to be part of moments like this that celebrate women beyond their everyday responsibilities and give them an opportunity to feel seen, appreciated and celebrated.”

The initiative, according to the brand, was designed to encourage women to prioritise themselves while continuing to make meaningful contributions to their families and communities.

Speaking on the partnership, Senior Manager, Marketing and Communication, Zaron Cosmetics, Aderinsola Adetunji, said the collaboration was aimed at recognising the important role women play in sustaining the August Meeting tradition.

“We are delighted to continue our partnership with Amstel Malta to celebrate the women who make the August Meeting such a meaningful tradition.

“Women give so much to their families, communities, and the people around them, and moments like this are an opportunity to remind them to also take time for themselves.”

Amstel Malta said its support for women extends beyond the August Meeting, noting that it has consistently backed platforms and partnerships that recognise women’s resilience, achievements and contributions while creating opportunities for them to thrive.

The brand said its August Meeting activities, including last year’s programme and this year’s celebrations in Enugu and Abia, reflect its continued commitment to creating meaningful moments for women to feel recognised, supported and celebrated.

The initiative also underscores the growing importance of combining social celebration with economic empowerment, particularly by providing women entrepreneurs with practical support to grow their businesses and contribute more effectively to their communities.
