The Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) Media Front has asserted that substantially increased federal revenue allocation and ongoing infrastructure, education, and social intervention projects have the strong potential to remarkably improve the economic prospects and living standards of Osun State residents.
The group made this comprehensive assessment in a special Independence Day statement, while actively acknowledging the temporary economic difficulties and hardships faced by ordinary Nigerians following recent sweeping national reforms. According to AMBO Media, Osun State’s monthly federal allocation rose significantly to about ₦17 billion in July, compared with approximately ₦4 billion recorded prior to the removal of the national fuel subsidy in 2023.
The group pointed out that this remarkable increase represented a massive growth of about 350 per cent, strongly arguing that these additional financial resources should directly translate into vastly improved public services if properly, prudently, and transparently deployed.
“Ordinarily, such a substantial increase in available public resources should translate into greater succour for the people through improved education, healthcare, social security services, infrastructure and a more efficient transportation system,” the group emphasised in the statement.
AMBO Media also cited critical federal support systems provided specifically to Osun State following the removal of the fuel subsidy, including federal palliatives valued at ₦15 billion in 2023 and a substantial ₦2 billion special grant specifically earmarked for the procurement of modern compressed natural gas (CNG) buses.
Furthermore, the group revealed that the Federal Government had successfully refunded about ₦8 billion in long-standing personnel tax arrears relating directly to federal workers operating within the state.
Focusing heavily on infrastructural development, the group listed several major federal road projects currently traversing the region, including the strategic Osogbo-Iwo-Ibadan Road and the equally vital Osogbo-Ikirun-Akoda Road.

Official data from the Federal Ministry of Works put the approved contract value of the massive Osogbo-Iwo-Ibadan project at about ₦114.85 billion, while the Osogbo-Ikirun-Akoda project was pegged at approximately ₦101.81 billion.
AMBO Media also spotlighted the Federal Government’s official approval for the reconstruction of the Ilobu-Ogbomoso Road, noting that these interconnected projects would dramatically improve regional connectivity, cut travel times, and facilitate the seamless movement of people, agricultural produce, and commercial goods.
“Good roads connect farmers to markets, businesses to consumers, workers to places of employment and communities to economic opportunities,” the group noted sagely.
The advocacy group further revealed that about ₦10 billion had been channelled directly through targeted Zonal Intervention Projects facilitated vigorously by federal lawmakers representing various constituencies in Osun State over the past three years, covering critical areas such as rural feeder roads, comprehensive school renovations, modern solar-powered street lights, and diverse community empowerment projects.
In the crucial education sector, AMBO Media reported that robust financial interventions channeled through the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) and the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) had cumulatively amounted to about ₦12 billion since 2023.
The group strongly urged all patriotic Nigerians to remain steadfastly committed to the overarching Nigerian project as the great nation proudly marked its 66th Independence Anniversary.
