Former governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, has announced that he brought his first son to join protesters in Abuja to provide medical assistance to anyone who gets injured during the protest.

Amaechi disclosed this at the National Assembly complex on Tuesday against the Senate’s rejection of real-time electronic transmission of election results.

“Here is my first son. I brought him to join the protest. He is a medical doctor; his job is, if there’s injury, to treat the injured ones,” Amaechi said.

The protest enters day two as demonstrators oppose the National Assembly’s decision to remove the clause mandating the electronic transmission of election results from the amended Electoral Act.
