Alleged illegal demolition: Court grants BTC Secretary, Irabor, 4 others bail

An Edo State High Court, yesterday, granted bail to the Secretary of Benin Traditional Council, Frank Irabor and four other suspects.

Recall that Irabor and six other suspects namely Oko-Oboh Ebosele, Aghavbere Osawemwenguan, Abel Oko-Oboh, Tuesday Atagamene, Okechukwu Okeke, and Ode Uloko, were earlier remanded in prison custody by the court over their alleged involvement in demolition of buildings at Ulegun community in Edo

Justice Mary Itsueli granted the bail applications of the suspects in the sum of N1,000,000 each with a surety each in like sum.

Besides, the judge ordered that the sureties must be gainfully employed, must be house owner and must appear in court on every adjourned date.

At the hearing of the case yesterday, the court, after listening to applications filed by Olayiwola Afolabi for Frank Irabor, Aghavbere Osawemwenguan, Abel Oko-Oboh, Ode Uloko and Oko-Oboh Ebosel, granted them bail.

Two other suspects, Tuesday Atagamene and Okechukwu Okeke, were however not granted bail.
