Alleged defamation: Journalist Peter Olasupo visits INTERPOL office in Abuja

An Ibadan-based broadcast journalist, Peter Olasupo on Monday visited the office of the International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL) in Abuja, following his invitation over alleged criminal defamation and cyberstalking.

In a Facebook post, Olasupo said he visited the INTERPOL office alongside his lawyer.

“Today, Monday, 13th January 2025, at 9:30am, I am currently at the International Criminal Police Organisation, INTERPOL, Headquarters at Force Headquarters, Shehu Shagari Way, Garki, Abuja, with my lawyer.

“This is in response to their invitation regarding their investigation into allegations of criminal defamation and cyberstalking, which they claim involve me.

“Thank you all for your support. I will keep you updated as events unfold. God bless us all,” he said in a message to other journalists.

In an earlier post, Olasupo said he received an official letter on December 30, 2024, requiring him to report to INTERPOL headquarters on January 13, 2025.

The journalist promised to cooperate with the investigation into the alleged case.
