Serie A club, Udinese have dropped goalkeeper Maduka Okoye from the squad following allegations of betting violations.

The Nigerian international is under investigation for betting on his yellow card in Udinese’s Serie A match against Lazio on March 11, 2024.

Okoye was given a yellow card for time-wasting in the 64th minute of the match.

According to reports, investigators searched the shot stopper’s home in response to allegations from the betting corporate agency Sisal.

If found guilty, the 25-year-old may face a five-year ban.

Okoye is currently recovering from a wrist injury.

He has been replaced by Egil Selvik in Udinese’s 25-man squad.
