The leadership of Alimoso Country Club has honoured outstanding members of the community for their selfless service to the people of Alimoso and Nigeria at large.
The President of the club, Chief Sabitu Olusola, said the award was in recognition their contributions and self-less service to the community.
Top on the list of awardees was Chief Edward Awofisibe, the founding vice president of the club and Baloro of Idimu Land in the Alimosho Local Government area. Others are Professor Jelili Akinwande, a professor of medicine; Otunba Adedayo Adebayo and Nicholas Ajayi who are both prominent politicians.
“We enjoin them to continue their development strides for our community and Nigeria at large. Alimoso Country Club, incorporated with the Corporate Affairs Commission in 1993, has been at the forefront of pushing for the growth of our community with services such as the provision of scholarships to indigent students, among other deeds.
“We want to sustain such things and encourage people who have been working with us to do more,” he said.
Speaking on behalf of the awardees, Chief Awofisibe, who is a retired Customary Court judge and the Ejemo of Igangan-Ijesha, expressed gratitude to the leadership of the club, saying such recognition would encourage them to sustain good deeds in the service of humanity.
