The new Executive Director of National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), Alhaji Adedayo Thomas, has assumed office with a promise of team work with the staff.

Thomas made the promise in a statement signed by the Head, in Abuja, on Monday.

He was received by the outgoing Executive Director of the board, Ms Patricia Bala.

Thomas said issue of funding would not be a constraint to the board’s operations during his tenure “as ideas generate wealth.’’

He said although he had not come with all the solutions to the board’s challenges, solutions will be forged together with the management team.

Thomas expressed gratitude to his political and academic constituencies as well as the board’s management and promised not to disappoint them.

He said regulation was not all about killing industries or killing businesses, “it is about looking into what conforms to the society’s norms and ideals.

“We have to move forward to generate revenue. Great entertainment industries project the better image of country and entire continent.

The former executive director decried the many challenges that bedeviled her tenure.

Bala urged all concerned to support her successor in the task ahead.

“Thomas comes to the leadership of the board equipped with a Theatre Arts degree and competencies in development policy and advocacy.’’ (NAN)
