Dele Alake, Nigerian veteran journalist and former Editor of Sunday Concord has extolled the virtues of the late Chief Duro Onabule.
In a tribute he sent from abroad, Alake one-time Commissioner for Information and Strategy in Lagos State, 1999-2007 under the then Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Communication Advisor to Chief MKO Abiola, the winner of the annulled June 12 presidential election in Nigeria, and former Director of Media and Communication of Buhari CampaignOrganisation observed: “Chief Duro Onabule was a thoroughbred journalist, a riveting columnist, a meticulous editor, a fearless writer, an unrepentant humanist, an impactful mentor, a repository of political history, an incisive analyst, a masterful logician, a solid redoubtable professional…alas, journalism has lost an icon! They don’t make them like that anymore. May God grant his soul repose.”
