Entertainers drawn from the 31 Local Government Areas of Akwa Ibom State have eulogised the governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel for his good works and legacies he’s leaving behind in the industry.

Following a well-attended road show and concert to kick start the 2nd edition of the annual Ibom Entertainment Week, the artistes went a step further and passed a vote of confidence on the governor at an event held at Ibom Tropicana, Uyo on Wednesday, September 14, 2022.

According to the entertainers, the achievements recorded during the tenure of Governor Emmanuel will not be complete without his giant strides in the entertainment industry. “The most notable and commendable of them all was the appointment of the first ever Special Assistant to the Governor on Entertainment Industry, in the person of David Sergeant (Utang Akwa Ibom),” they stated.

Sergeant, in company of chairman of the planning committee, Godfada Uko, had led members of Ibom Entertainers Forum to embark on a solidarity march from Ibom Plaza to Tropicana. There, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Orman Esin, on behalf of the governor, presented Pastor Umo Eno, the People’s Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate to the entertainers, describing him as an entertainer, owing to his years of experience in the hospitality and tourism sector.

Esin said that if Governor Emmanuel could perform wonderfully in the state, entertainers could be rest assured that Pastor Eno would do more because he is one of them. The CEO of Hensek Integrated, Engr. Uwem Okoko donated N2 million to support the N2 million earlier donated by Pastor Umo Eno.

Also present at the event were the Senator representing Eket Senatorial District and deputy gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Akon Eyakenyi, Engr. Wisdom Enang, Special Assistant to Governor on Talent Hunt, Emmanuel Owuala, Dr. Itoro Etim and MC Mbakara, a comedian.
