The Chief High Priest of The Spiritual Kingdom Church of Christ (SKCC) in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area and head of ecclesiastical council of the church, Chief Samuel Chinda Edidem, has affirmed that there would be no more war in Nigeria after the civil war fought over 58 years ago.
Speaking during the celebration of the ascension of founder of the church, Edidem Bassey, the high priest disclosed that the prediction was anchored on an earlier prophecy by Bassey who prayed during the civil war and the three-year-old war ended immediately.
“Our father Edidem Bassey whom we are celebrating his ascension to heaven today prayed at the time of the Nigeria civil war, God answered him and assured him that there would be no more war in Nigeria
“That covenant between our father and God is respected by God till today. Therefore, we can authoritatively say that Nigeria would not see war again
“Without the prayer of Bassey, the Nigeria civil war would have escalated to third world war because of interest of world powers in that war
“Although the war recorded losses on both individuals and the nation, it would have lasted longer than necessary but God answered Bassey’s prayer and it ended with “no Victor, no vanquish” slogan of the Federal Government”
He said despite the political turmoil in Nigeria, characterised by insecurity, kidnapping, widespread violence, ethnic tension and Boko Haram insurgency, Nigeria cannot experience another round of war because he had entered into a covenant with the founder of the Spiritual Kingdom Church of Christ His Holiness who interceded during the war. Chinda-Edidem observed that the political disagreements in Nigeria were enough to cause war but the intercession by the cleric many years ago saved the nation from another war.
“All the political and economic hardship that Nigerians are facing which are enough to cause a revolt but that has not happened due to divine intercession and subsequent agreement with God by Bassey”
He maintained that if Nigeria would disintegrate in future, nobody would go to war before the separation. “It will be a peaceful separation without shedding blood,” he said.
About next year’s election, he disclosed that the election would be conducted peacefully and the acceptable winner would be announced without rancour by any political party or interest group.
“Election is one of the issues that divides nations and sometimes causes war but next year’s election will be peaceful and smooth.
“Nobody can rob this country of the peace negotiated with God by our father many years ago. I, therefore, urge Nigerians to continue to live in peace with one another as no insurgency from any group can panic us.
“The pockets of violence and killings we observed in some parts of the country are temporary and will soon disappear.”
Delivering her goodwill message at the ascension ceremony, the Mother General, Caroline Gabriel Edidem recounted the benefits of King Edidem Basey, while dwelling on earth among the gentiles.
“The eyes of the most holy king are always watching over us. He is always ready to hear, answer, fight and save us. Only put your trust in him.”
The ascension ceremony featured choir rendition from all branches of the church, goodwill messages, children choir and reflections of life and times of Bassey while on earth.
