Rivers United forward, Chijoke Akuneto has pulled away in the race for the Eunisell Boot for the NPFL Goal King after he hit a brace to take his tally for the season to 18 goals.
Akuneto was twice on target for champions-elect Rivers United in a 3-2 loss at Shooting Stars at the weekend.
He scored in the 27th minute, before he completed his brace with a 47th minute penalty.
The 24-year-old winger has now moved two goals beyond main rivals Azeez Yusuf of Gombe United and Victor Mbaoma from Enyimba.
The Eunisell Boot offers the NPFL Goal King N200, 000 a goal and so as it stands the former MFM FC star has now pocketed N3.6 million.
