Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello are set to testify in the suit instituted against suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
Daily Sun reported that the federal government filed criminal charges against Akpoti-Uduaghan on Thursday over statements she made on national television alleging a plot to assassinate her.
According to online reports, the list of witnesses who will testify in the trial includes Godswill Akpabio and Yahaya Bello.
Akpoti-Uduaghan is accused of making defamatory allegations during a live broadcast on Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’ on April 3, 2025.
Other witnesses in the case are Asuquo Ekpenyong, a senator; Sandra Duru; Maya Iliya, an investigating police officer; and Abdulhafiz Garba, another investigating police officer.
It was also gathered that Akpabio and Bello are listed as the nominal complainants.
