Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of News Central TV, Kayode Akintemi, has been named among the 100 Most Reputable Africans in 2026 for his contributions to public trust and influence across sectors.

The event organised by the Global Reputation Forum in London highlights individuals, whose work has influenced public confidence and contributed to societal development. Akintemi, who has more than three decades of experience in broadcast journalism, has overseen the expansion of News Central as a pan-African news platform, with programming spanning current affairs and documentaries.

News Central’s international correspondent, Afua Hagan, reacting to the recognition said: “Akintemi’s achievement reveals News Central’s dedication to integrity, innovation and excellence in media. This recognition not only honours his personal reputation but also elevates the platform we build daily to inform, inspire and unite Africans worldwide.”

Akintemi also chaired a panel session titled, “Sound, Story and Soft Power: How Media and Entertainment Shape Global Reputation and Public Trust,” where participants examined the role of media and entertainment in shaping perception and credibility, and the need for consistent standards and accountability in building reputation, particularly in African markets.
