The Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) has again described the late governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu as a courageous legal luminary.
The NBA stated that Akeredolu remained one of the most influential presidents to have ever led the association.
Akeredolu who died on December 27, 2023 after a protracted battle with cancer, was the president of NBA between 2008 and 2010.
Speaking on behalf of the NBA during a condolence visit to the bereaved family, current president of the association, Mr. Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau (SAN) said Akeredolu’s tenure as NBA president was renowned for active commitment to the rule of law, effective administration of justice and protection of human rights.
In a statement by the National Publicity Secretary, Akorede Habeeb Lawal, the NBA said other national officers, delegates from some branches and notable members of the association accompanied Maikyau on the solemn visit by.
Mr Lawal said the delegation, which was received by the widow, Betty Akeredolu at the family residence in Ibadan, later signed the condolence register.
