Ajoke group of schools in Toll Gate community, Olorunda Local Council Development Authority (LCDA), Badagry, Lagos State, recently held its annual inter- house sports competition.

The event attracted friends and relatives who came in their numbers to cheer up the pupils.

Also in attendance were the four House lords: Alhaji Issa Raimi, (Green House), Ustaz Zakariyau Attah Odoma (Yellow House ), Baale Arajokun, Chief Saturday Mathew (Pink House) and Alhaji Ibukun Olu Abdulazez (Blue House), represented by Mrs. Olayinka

The event began with colourful parades by the four houses that represented other students.

In his remarks, the proprietor, Alhaji Yusuf Amuda Olrunnishola, said sport is part of extracurricular activities that keep the students mentally and physically sound.

“It is in view of this that we, in conjunction with PTA, agreed to hold this sport meet,” he explained.

On what the students stand to gain from the exercise, Olorunnishola said that through inter house sports competition future sports talents are discovered and mentored to become heroes.

“Some of our students upon graduation have chosen sport as their career and has continued to make the school and the nation proud,” he added.

In his own remarks, lord of Yellow House, Ahaji Attah Odoma described the event as the right way to catch the students young.

He prayed that Almighty God would continue to bless the proprietor for his efforts at making the school stand out.

Other dignitaries at the event included Onu Igala Ojo, Job Abu Adukwu and Oba Pius Oluwole Anikokolagbala who was represented by Chief John Daramola (Onirodo of Idofin) from Idofin Odo-Ase in Oke Aro Local Government of Kwara State, who came to give royal blessings to the sporting occasion.

At the end of the event, Pink House emerged as the winner of the inter-house sports competition, while Blue House won the match parade.
