Real estate consultant, Chief Michael Fatoye Ajayi, has condemned incessant attacks on security personnel, describing it as unwarranted callous and barbaric.
Owolabi, who is the Chairman of Apata Hotel and Suites, in a statement, said there was no justification for the heinous and condemnable attack targeted against innocent security personnel on legitimate duty of protecting life and property in the state.
He stressed the need for Nigerians to appreciate the sacrifices the patriotic security agents are paying to ensure that the rest of the citizens live in an environment free of stress and hassles. He described the attacks as unwarranted and cowardly.
He expressed the confidence that the IGP will ensure that individuals, who engage in assault on police officers, irrespective of preceding factors, are made to face the full wrath of the law, via swift prosecution in courts of competent jurisdiction.
On the forthcoming 2023 elections, Ajayi said Nigerians have nothing to worry about, as the police personnel were well trained on various techniques of managing security challenges during elections.
He said the IGP was ready and prepared to confront security challenges that might come up, so as to ensure a successful election.
“There are a lot of expectations on the police and other security agencies as the election is around the corner, and I have confidence that our security agents are up to the tasks and will do the needful.”
