Ajax set to sign Tolu Arokodare on loan from Wolves

Dutch giants, Ajax have agreed a deal to sign Super Eagles striker, Tolu Arokodare from Wolves on an initial loan with no obligation to buy.

Transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano reported on Monday that Ajax and Wolves have reached a club-to-club agreement for the loan move.

According to the report, Ajax will cover Arokodare’s full salary and pay an undisclosed loan fee.

The deal also includes a non-mandatory buy option worth €22 million if triggered.

“Club to club agreement done on loan with salary covered and buy option clause not mandatory worth €22m if triggered.”

The 25-year-old forward reportedly rejected offers from clubs in Turkey and Italy in order to join the Eredivisie side.

Arokodare joined Wolves in Septemer 2025 in a £23.4 million deal from Belgian side, Genk.

The gangling striker had hit 20 league goals, claiming the Ebony Shoe for the best player in Belgium of African extraction, as Genk narrowly missed out on the Belgian Pro League title in the 2024/25 season.

He has since fallen out of favour at Wolves, who were relegated to the EFL Championship at the end of the 2025/26 season.
