Ondo State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr. Seun Osamaye has empowered no fewer than 300 widows and aged people.
The beneficiaries of the empowerment programme were drawn from Ijare, Igbara-Oke and Ilaramokin in Ifedore Local Government Area of the state.
The commissioner presented various items including cash gifts, household items and foods to the beneficiaries of the empowerment programme.
Tagged “Give Back A Portion,” the empowerment programme is a yearly event put together by the Commissioner to give back to the society.

Dr. Osamaye stated that the initiative started 10 years ago by her family, noting that this year’s programme marked the seventh edition specifically targeted at supporting widows and vulnerable women in Ifedore Local Government Area of the state.
She said the initiative was borne out of the passion to give back to the society and uplift women who are facing economic and social hardship.
Dr. Osamaye said the conducive working environment created by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has further strengthened her ability to touch more lives, stressing that the administration’s commitment to social welfare is commendable.
Some of the beneficiaries, who spoke during the programme, expressed gratitude to the Commissioner for the timely intervention, describing the gesture as a major relief in the face of current economic realities.
