The Executive Chairman of DAAR Communications Limited, owners of African Independent television (AIT) and Raypower Radio, was on Friday arrested on arrival at the International wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja, on his return from medical treatment at the American Hospital in Dubai.

His arrest was dramatic and sent tongues wagging when his aides waited for him to come through, but he never did as he was led out of the airport by security operatives.

Minutes after his arrest, his television and radio stations began announcing his arrest hourly.

Our correspondent learnt an official of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) said his arrest sprang from the fact that Dokpesi was on the Federal government’s security watch list, and that there were instructions from above to arrest him on arrival.

Recall that the DAAR Communications founder is currently standing trial for allegedly getting a slice of the N2.1 billion security fund said to have been grossly mismanaged by the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki who currently in the custody of the Federal government.
