Aisha Yesufu, the convener of the now-defunct BringBackOurGirls (BBOG) campaign organisation, has accused the Senate of allowing itself to be manipulated.

Yesufu voiced faith for the Senate’s independence.

She made the remark in response to Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, senator representing Kogi Central, having her office opened.

The opening of Natasha’s office suggests that the suspended legislator will soon resume her official duties as a senator, as parliamentarians prepare to resume plenary on October 7, 2025.

Natasha’s Room 205 office in the Senate Wing was reopened by the National Assembly’s Sergeant at Arms, along with a joint team of security personnel.

Natasha was suspended after making charges of sexual harassment against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Reacting, Yesufu posted on X: “The Senate has allowed itself to be used. Hope they get their independence.”
