Festus Keyamo, Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, has stated that airline operators are considering naming Ms Comfort Emmanson, an embattled Ibom Air passenger, as an ambassador for excellent aviation passenger conduct.

Keyamo announced this on Wednesday in a statement, emphasising that Emmanson’s position, as well as that of Fuji star Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, commonly known as KWAM 1, will be voluntary and without financial benefits.

Daiiy Sun reports that Emmanson was freed on Wednesday after she was jailed over an incident on an Ibom Air flight.

Her release followed government intervention and the withdrawal of the airline’s complaint.

“Whilst the aviation agencies are considering using KWAM 1 for such a role, in my discussion last night with the Airline Operators of Nigeria, they are also looking at the option of using Ms. Comfort Emmanson, who has also shown remorse, as their own ambassador for good passenger conduct,” he stated.

He, however, said the decision is left to airline operators.

“It is left for the AON to work out those details since she has been actually released from prison custody today based on my earlier statement”, he stated.
