Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Zone 7, Abuja, comprising FCT and Niger State, Mr Garba Aliyu, has charged officers to flush criminals out of Abuja and the other command.

He said: “I have lectured my officers to be ready to confront security challenges facing the country. I warned them to maintain discipline when carry out their duties. There will constant patrol especially in Abuja to send strong signal to the hoodlums that Abuja will be too hot for them.

“I am here to fight criminals and criminality. We are ready for the battle. We are to follow the IGP Usman Baba Alkali’s vision and mission to imbibe community policing and apply professionalism in our their duties.  We will ensure adequate security in the zone.

“I  have directed the two commissioners of police in the zone to sustain efforts in fighting crime and criminality. We are performing our statutory responsibilities of protecting of life and property.

“Officers should be professional and mindful of the fundamental rights of the citizens. They should discharge their responsibilities with all humility, decorum and alertness.

“I have warned them not to get involved in illegal duty. Anyone caught will face the Police Act and consequences of their action. They know how to have good relationship with the public to assist them fight the hoodlums.”
