“I have directed the two commissioners of police in the zone to continue their efforts to fight crime and criminality. I have lectured my officers to be ready to confront security challenges in the environs. I warned them to maintain discipline when carrying out their duties.
“There are constant patrols, especially on the highways. We have sent strong signal to hoodlums that Adamawa and Taraba states will be too hot for them to operate. We are performing our statutory responsibilities of protecting life and property.
“We also maintain zero-tolerance policy against extortion, place human’s rights high and remain a strong advocate of community policing. We are closely working with other security agencies, community leaders and relevant stakeholders to enhance public safety and ensure effective policing throughout the zone.
