AIG, Zone 2, pledges to run hoodlums aground

Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 11 Osogbo, comprising Oyo and Osun states, Mr. Sikiru Kayode Akande, has assured the people of the states: “We are ready to flush out criminals out of the states, to enable them sleep with their eyes closed.”

He made the pledge at the palace of Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja 11. He pledged safety of life and property and a crime free environment: “I have directed the two commissioners of police in the zone to redeploy   tactical team operatives  to  flashpoints to  checkmate hoodlums who made several attempts to rob and kidnap.

“We are going after the hoodlums in their various hideouts.” Oba Ogunwusi promised to support the police in all their endeavours.

Akande said: “We visited Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State in anticipation of what the state will do in providing logistics to support the police to secure the state.

“We also had a security assessment of Ife-IIesa Expressway and Ayegbaju-Iwara-Igangan Road. We have mapped out strategies on how to move against the hoodlums to make travellers have safe trips.

“People should imbibe community policing. It will help both police and public to work together to fight crime in their environments.”
