Top officials have told SCORENigeria that the CHAN Eagles will be boosted with the inclusion of Ahmed Musa and Rabiu Ali for final playoff against arch-rivals Ghana next month.
Coach Augustine Eguavoen will name both players on a final squad in the first week of December.
“Ignore what you have read about Ahmed Musa and the CHAN Eagles. He and Rabiu Ali will be called up for the home-based super Eagles,” a reliable source told SCORENigeria
Both players have been on top form for Kano Pillars.
Ahmed Musa is the most capped Nigeria international and has played in Holland, Russia, England, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
He has netted four times in his third return to Pillars, while Rabiu Ali has continued to turn back the hand of the clock with some sparkling performances for his hometown club even in his 40s.
On Saturday, he snatched the late winner for Pillars at Bendel Insurance.
He is now the second leading scorer in the NPFL with six goals.
The inspirational midfield general featured for the CHAN Eagles when they reached the semifinals in 2014 in South Africa.
The CHAN Eagles will do battle with their Ghanaian counterparts between December 20 and 27 for a spot at next year’s CHAN to be hosted by Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya.
