Residents of Ago Palace Way have commended the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade, and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) over the improved security situation in the area.

In a statement signed by representatives of the area, Chief Chukwuma Igwe and Pastor Eugene Nnah, the residents said reported cases of kidnappings and other criminal acts witnessed in the area in the past have reduced drastically since the new police boss assumed office.

They noted that the presence of CP Fayoade has been noticed severally at odd hours of the night with a team of police patrolling the nooks and crannies of the once volatile area, stating that his choice of a pragmatic DPO and other gallant officers at the Ago Police station has assured that they sleep with both eyes closed.

The statement reads: “We, representatives of residents of Ago Palace Way, Okota, wish to commend the security situation in our area since a new commissioner of police assumed duties in Lagos State.

“We have witnessed the intimidating presence of policemen at areas formerly designated as black spots, and the policemen have been discharging their duties with utmost diligence and courtesy.

“We are happy to say that their presence at strategic spots in our area has assured us that we sleep with both eyes closed. Interestingly, the outcome of peace in our area has resulted in our businesses booming till the wee hours of the night as cases of infractions are swiftly nipped in the bud by gallant policemen seen patrolling all the nooks and crannies of the area.

“We are, therefore, pleading with the police boss to ensure that the trend continues, as we go about our businesses without fear of molestation or attacks,” they stated.
