Aide to former Senator Peter Nwaoboshi who represented Delta North Senatorial district Philip Elueme said there will be huge celebration as friends, associates and All Progressives Congress, (APC) party faithful will troop out to welcome Nwaoboshi, after his Supreme Court victory.
It would be recalled that the Justice Emmanuel Agim-led Supreme Court panel had nulled and voided the guilty verdict handed on the Senator on July 1, 2021 a 7-year imprisonment by the Lagos Appeal Court led by the trio of Justices Abdullahi Bayero; Obande Ogbuniya and Peter Affen.
The apex court in its ruling described as frivolous and malicious the action of the EFCC occasioned by the Appeal Court guilty verdict while it quashed the judgement against the lawmaker and two others.
In his reaction preparatory to the grand reception organised for the Senator in his state, Elueme said the event will be in two folds; to welcome the former Chairman, Senate Committee on Niger Delta Affairs back home from the red chamber where he had served meritoriously, and to also appreciate his sagacity and quality representation of the Anioma people.
“He uplifted the soul of an average Anioma man and we owe him a duty of celebration. We will celebrate his gallantry,” he said
He said the second leg of the reception will be at Ibusa, where he would be welcomed home after his victory from his traducers. “His entry into Ibusa after he was mischievously hounded into prison by the EFCC and later set free by the Supreme Court, our people must celebrate this great man of valour.”
He added: “Senator Nwaoboshi’s name is now celebrated as part of the 07-07-23 ‘Locus CLASSICUS” Judgement of the Supreme Court of Nigeria while politics is an arena of public disclosure.
Nwaoboshi will continue to be celebrated while his enemies continue to live in shame,” Elueme said.
