Nigerian music legend, Innocent Idibia, better known as 2Face, has voiced confidence in the future of Afrobeats, allaying concerns that the genre may be relegated to the world arena.

In a recent interview with Yaw on Wazobia FM Lagos, the African Queen crooner maintained that, despite certain pessimistic forecasts, Afrobeats will remain on the global arena.

He stated that the country’s limitless supply of youthful talents ensures continuity, emphasising that young performers are the lifeblood of Afrobeats.

2Face said, “Afrobeats can never die. If you listen to some of the young Afrobeats artists now, you will agree with me that the genre is in safe hands.

“Recently, one of the young artists, Fola, remade my song ‘If Love Is A Crime.’ I really loved it. Soft, smooth vocals. It is amazing. The present crops of artists have special flows. I love their styles.”
