Lagos was full of life on Saturday, October 26, 2025, as the African Food & Drinks Festival (AFDF) returned to Muri Okunola Park, bringing together over 4,000 food lovers, creators, and culture enthusiasts for a full day of excitement.
The event turned the park into a celebration of African taste and creativity, with guests enjoying a wide range of dishes, from jollof rice and suya to puff-puff and grilled seafood. The atmosphere was vibrant, the music was loud, and the sense of unity was unmistakable.
One of the biggest highlights was the Masterclass powered by Kiara Rice, hosted by celebrity chef Omoye Cooks, who shared creative ways to prepare modern African dishes.
The Influencers Eating Competition between Team Twitter NG and Team TikTok Nigeria also stole the spotlight, featuring viral creators like Mr Downloader, Francisca, Ruth, and Seun. The contest trended online, adding to the excitement around the festival.
The day was filled with laughter, dancing, and cultural performances, including a procession by the Eyo Masquerade and an energetic display from Igbo traditional dancers. The event was hosted by Aronjinle, MC Day, and Kanyisola, who kept the crowd entertained from start to finish.
According to Kevin Eze, Founder and CEO of the African Food Network, “Lagos once again showed us that African food brings people together. It was more than an event; it was a celebration of identity and community.”
The festival was headlined by Kuda Microfinance Bank and supported by Kiara Rice, Malta Guinness, Air Peace, Peak Milk, and Grand Soya Oil, among others.
