Africa Prudential Plc has posted a strong financial performance for the first half of 2026, with profit after tax rising by 18 per cent to N1.59 billion, as the company intensified its digital transformation strategy and diversified its revenue sources to sustain growth.

The company disclosed this during its H1 2026 Investor Call held on Tuesday, where it engaged institutional investors, shareholders, analysts, regulators and other stakeholders on its financial performance, strategic direction and outlook for the second half of the year.

Africa Prudential recorded gross earnings of N4.28 billion, representing a 27 per cent increase from N3.34 billion recorded in the corresponding period of 2025. Profit before tax rose by 22 per cent to N2.41 billion, while net operating income increased by 27 per cent to N4.21 billion.

The company’s balance sheet also strengthened during the period, with total assets growing by 13 per cent to N46.53 billion, while shareholders’ funds rose by the same margin to N12.52 billion.

Management attributed the strong performance to sustained growth in its core share registration business, increased corporate actions in the Nigerian capital market, improved treasury income supported by the prevailing high interest rate environment, and growing adoption of its technology-driven products and services.

Speaking during the investor session, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Africa Prudential Plc, Dr. Catherine Nwosu, said the company is deliberately reducing its dependence on interest income by expanding its technology-enabled offerings and recurring fee-based businesses.

Responding to investors’ concerns over the sustainability of earnings should interest rates decline, Nwosu said, “Interest rates influence our treasury income positively, but that is why we are deliberately diversifying our revenue streams. Our strategy is to grow recurring fee-based business lines such as our digital solutions, KYC services, AGM technology, Probate services, and the SabiVest mobile app. Over time, this will reduce our reliance on interest income and create a more balanced and resilient earnings mix.”

She added that the company’s long-term strategy is aligned with the growing digital transformation of Nigeria’s capital market.

“With capital market activity nearly doubling over the past year, demand for seamless digital investor experiences, improved market efficiency, and stronger compliance standards continues to grow. We are investing in technology-enabled solutions that position us to capitalize on these opportunities while delivering sustainable value to our shareholders,” she said.

Management also reaffirmed that Africa Prudential is evolving beyond its traditional role as a share registrar into a broader technology and business solutions provider serving participants across the capital market ecosystem.

To sustain its growth momentum in the second half of 2026, the company unveiled five strategic priorities, including expanding its core registrar business and new revenue lines, accelerating technology-driven product innovation, strengthening its brand leadership, investing in talent development, and deepening corporate governance and institutional excellence.

The investor call attracted strong participation from shareholders and analysts, with discussions focusing on earnings sustainability, revenue diversification and the company’s long-term growth prospects.

Africa Prudential said it remains committed to maintaining transparent engagement with investors while leveraging innovation, sound corporate governance and financial discipline to create sustainable value for shareholders and consolidate its leadership position in Nigeria’s capital market.
