African textiles and fashion are spreading around the world. The growing trend will rise a notch higher when the maiden edition of the African Fashion Week slated for 25th -27th May 2023 opens at Expo Centre Norte, in Sao Paulo.

At a press briefing in Lagos, the Consul General of Brazil, His Excellency , Ministro Andre Veras  Guimaraes, said that holding the event in Brazil not only maintains the traditions of work of the African continent as a mark in Brazil, but it can also be seen as an instrument of cooperation between Nigeria and the communities in Brazil.

“Brazil and Nigeria have maintained good and  diversified relations, and both are committed to developing trade and cultural relationships.

The fashion industry is one of the tools that can promote bilateral relations between Brazil and Nigeria as a country, and with Africa as a whole.”
