The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) has officially released a 24-athlete squad for the upcoming World Athletics Relays, scheduled to take place from May 2 to 3 in Gaborone, Botswana.
The list, unveiled by the federation’s Technical Committee after successful entries were confirmed, features a blend of experienced campaigners and emerging talents as Team Nigeria targets a strong showing on the global stage.
Among the notable names in the squad are Patience Okon George, Blessing Ogundiran, Chidi Okezie, Emmanuel Ojeli, Enoch Adegoke, and Favour Ashe, alongside promising newcomers including Gafari Badmus, Ezekiel Eno, Jecinta Lawrence, Toheebat Jimoh, and Tejiri Godwin.
Nigeria will compete in all six relay events—men’s and women’s 4x100m and 4x400m, as well as the mixed relays.

In the men’s 4x100m, the team includes Enoch Adegoke, Favour Ashe, James Taiwo Emmanuel, Chidera Ezeakor and Tejiri Godwin, while the men’s 4x400m squad features Ezekiel Enoh Azukwo, Gafari Badmus, Victor Ime, Samson Nathaniel, Emmanuel Ojeli and Chidi Okezie.
For the women’s 4x100m, Jenifer Chukwuka, Rosemary Chukwuma, Miracle Ezechukwu, Rosemary Nwankwo, Blessing Ogundiran and Maria Thompson Omokwe have been selected, while the women’s 4x400m team comprises Anita Enaruna, Patience Okon George, Toheebat Jimoh, Taiwo Mary Kudoro, Jecinta Lawrence and Esther Okon.
In the mixed 4x100m relay, the lineup includes Enoch Adegoke, Rosemary Chukwuma, James Taiwo Emmanuel, Chidera Ezeaku, Miracle Ezechukwu and Blessing Ogundiran, while the mixed 4x400m team features Sekiru Adewale Adeyemi, Anita Enaruna, Patience Okon George, Toheebat Jimoh, Emmanuel Ojeli and Chidi Okezie.
AFN President Tonobok Okowa, who signed the list, expressed confidence in the team’s readiness, backing the athletes to deliver strong performances in Botswana.
