• Sets deadline for All Comers selection trials

Ahead of the 2023 Confederation of African Athletics U-18 and U-20 championship, the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), has set March 20, 2023 as the deadline for entry submissions for the All Comers U18 and U20 combined selection trials championship.
The two-day competition to kick start the 2023 National Athletics Season, is billed for March 23-24 at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.
Part of the objectives of the trials is for the selection of junior athletes that will represent Nigeria at the Confederation of African Athletics U-18 and U-20 combined championships in Lusaka, Zambia.
In a statement signed by the AFN Secretary General Rita Mosindi, addressed to all state athletics associations, directors of sports, chairmen, Military and Paramilitary clubs, specific conditions for participation were as follows; athletes aged 16 or 17 years of age as at December 31, 2022 are eligible to compete.
Also athletes aged 18 and 19 years of age as at December (born in 2004 or 2005) may compete in any event.
