Nigeria’s Super Eagles succumbed to a narrow 2-1 defeat against Egypt in an international friendly played at the Cairo International Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Chidozie Awaziem got Nigeria’s only goal of the game, a first-half equaliser, but it ended up being nothing more than mere consolation for the three-time African champions.
Egypt rested Premier League stars Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush, while Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze and Moses Simon did not join the Super Eagles in Cairo.
