The Super Eagles of Nigeria claimed an emphatic 3-1 victory over the Cranes of Uganda to seal top spot in Group C at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Gangling forward, Paul Onuachu scored a 28th-minute opener off a Fisayo Dele-Bashiru assist.

A 56th-minute red card for Jamal Salim dimmed Uganda’s chances of recovery.

Raphael Onyedika extended the Super Eagles’ lead in the 62nd minute from a beautiful Samuel Chukwueze assist.

The duo linked up again five minutes later for the Eagles’ third goal.

Rogers Mato, 22, grabbed Uganda’s consolation goal in the 75th minute.

Eric Chelle’s team went into the game having previously beat Tanzania and Tunisia to advance into the knockout stage.
