. Former captain to drill Uzoho, Nwabili, Ojo in Abu Dhabi

Former captain, Vincent Enyeama is set to bring his expertise to bear and create a healthy competition in the Super Eagles goalkeeping department, as he would be drilling the trio of Francis Uzoho, Stanley Nwabili and Olorunleke Ojo at Nigeria’s pre-AFCON 2023 camp in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Uzoho, Nwabili and Ojo, were the three shot stoppers that made the 25-man list of Jose Peseiro for the African Cup of Nations 34th edition billed to kickoff on January 13 in Abidjan.
According to information sourced on photo and video sharing social networking app, Instagram, Vincent Enyeama reached agreement with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and has accepted to work with Super Eagles coaching staff as the three-time AFCON kings seek for a fourth diadem in Cote D’ Ivoire.
Enyeama, 41, who announced his retirement in 2015 after making over a 100 appearances, also confirmed the development on New Year’s day when he posted and shared a picture of himself in the Super Eagles shirt on his verified Instagram handle, with a post that read. “Let’s go. See you in camp. Time for business.”
While in Abu Dhabi for the one-week training camp, the Super Eagles will square up against Burkina Faso and DR Congo in a mini-tournament.
The Super Eagles is then expected to fly back to Lagos on Tuesday, January 9 with the Super Eagles, before jetting into the Ivorian capital, Abidjan on Wednesday, January 10.
The Super Eagles, in their quest for a fourth continental title, will take on Equatorial Guinea on Sunday, January 14 in their first match of Group A, before further clashes with host nation Cote d’Ivoire (January 18) and Guinea Bissau (January 22).
