Manchester United are poised to initiate talks with the football federations of Cameroon, Morocco and Ivory Coast in an effort to delay the departures of three key players ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
This year’s tournament will begin on December 21 and end on January 18, with the trio of United players missing out on vital fixtures.
The players affected are Bryan Mbeumo, Noussair Mazraoui and Amad Diallo, who are expected to represent their countries.

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim expressed optimism that the club can come to an agreement with the respective football federations.
“We are trying to have the players a bit longer, but we will see. I think it is two weeks before the start. We will try to arrange something with the federations.
“We already knew [about AFCON], so it is a chance for other players. It is not ideal, they are so important in our squad,” Amorim stated.
