Former Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo feels the team has the potential to win the Africa Cup of Nations tournament in 2025.
Nigeria came close to earning a fourth AFCON championship in the previous edition of the competition before losing 2-1 to host Cote d’Ivoire in the final.
The Super Eagles will face past champions Carthage Eagles of Tunisia, Cranes of Uganda, and Taifa Stars of Tanzania in the AFCON 2025 group stage.
Yobo believes the Eagles has the ability to win the competition.
However, the former defender stated that the club must get off to a good start in the tournament.
“We have a very good team, the players have been improving as they showed at the last AFCON,” Yobo told Ojb Sports.
“It is never easy, but getting out of the group stage has not been a problem for us.
“It is for us to start well and build on the momentum.
“It is about time we go one better and get our hands on the trophy again.”
