Super Eagles’ caretaker coach, Augustine Eguavoen has reacted on his team’s 1-1 draw against Benin Republic’s Cheetahs.

On Thursday night, Eguavoen’s side rallied for a share of the spoils in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification match in Abidjan.

Mohammed Tijani gave the Cheetahs the lead at 16 minutes.

Victor Osimhen however rescued a point for Nigeria eight minutes from time.

“It was a tough game and I congratulate the players for a spirited display in the second half that earned us the equaliser,” Eguavoen told thenff.com.

“The downpour made the game difficult for both teams, but I am happy we have the AFCON finals ticket in the bag ahead of the final game of the series against Rwanda in Uyo on Monday.”
