Kelechi Iheanacho and Samuel Chukwueze have insisted that Super Eagles will go all out for the 3points, as Nigeria plays its most important Group A match against 2023 AFCON host Côte d’Ivoire.

The clash of the titans, which is sold out, is billed for the Alassane Ouattara Stadium, Abidjan on Thursday.

Iheanacho, who recovered on time from the injury he sustained while on duty for his English Championship side Leicester City a few weeks back, says he’s feeling good and ready to go as Nigeria prepares for the make or burst game.

“It’s been great for the Super Eagles, the draw against Equatorial Guinea was a wake up call for the team. We need to be prepared and ready to face the Ivory Coast, as they will be coming out strong after winning their first game against Guinea Bissau.

“Am now 100 % fit and ready to give my best for Nigeria.

“Obviously, we want to go all the way in this AFCON but we must take the matches one after the other.”

On Super Eagles chances of making the final, “From the fans view, things are not looking good for the team but from my view, the Super Eagles have the quality to win a 4th title.

“There is a lot to achieve in this AFCON but we all need to stay focused.”

For AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze, “It wasn’t a bad result from our Group A opening game, every Super Eagles fan expected a win from us in the first game against Equatorial Guinea but it didn’t happen.

“The focus is now on host Ivory Coast, and we need to win the game which is the most important for the team now.

“The weather in Abidjan has been tough for us, you see us having a water break as everyone in Africa knows how hot it can be at 2pm.

“This is not an excuse, we created chances but couldn’t seal the game up with a win. We have spoken to ourselves on how important the game against the Elephants means to us and Nigerians, we just have to go all out to give our best on Thursday as we have the players that can get the job done.”
