Life is sweet. It is even said to be sweeter for those who are born under the proverbial lucky star. Without a doubt, one of such lucky creatures is Sir Steve Bamidele Omojafor, a renowned marketing communication guru and Executive Chairman, STB-McCann, who will be 80 in a few days. As he gracefully joined the Octogenarian club on Tuesday January 6, the crème of society and industry titans are on standby to honour the quintessential gentleman with their presence at a reception planned by his family members and friends at the Harbour Points in Victoria Island, Lagos. Interestingly, the occasion has been dubbed ‘Three-in-One Celebrations’: his birthday, that of his lovely wife, Lady Moji and 50th anniversary of their journey as a couple.
There are many other activities lined up as prelude to the main grand event. The 80th birthday celebration would commence on Sunday January 4 with a musical event at St Gregory’s College Jubilee Hall, Obalende Lagos. Then a thanksgiving mass would be held at St Gregory College Hall on Tuesday, before the main soiree later in the day.
In the integrated marketing communication industry, Sir Omojafor is recognised as a leading light. His wealth of experience almost beggars description. The advertising guru, who holds a degree in Mass Communication from the University of Lagos, is a Fellow of the Association of Advertising Practitioners of Nigeria (AAPN). Omojafor sits on the Board of several reputable companies. He was Chairman of the Board of Zenith Bank Plc. from August 2010 to July 2014. He was honoured by the Pope in 2009 as Knight Commander of St. Sylvester for his commitment to the Catholic Church and humanity.
