Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, is set to dissolve his cabinet as part of preparations for his second-term inauguration scheduled for November 27, 2026.

Sources close to the administration told Daily Sun that the governor could announce the dissolution as early as Wednesday, as the government begins the transition into a new term.

Ahead of the inauguration, Adeleke has constituted a Central Inauguration Committee chaired by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Teslim Igbalaye.

A statement by Kehinde Adeoye, Special Assistant on Media and Digital Communication to the SSG, said the committee was formally inaugurated on Tuesday at the Government Secretariat, Abeere.

Speaking on behalf of the governor, Igbalaye thanked members of the committee for their loyalty, prayers and sacrifices, which he said contributed to the administration’s victory at the polls.

He, however, reminded them that the renewed mandate would require greater commitment to good governance and delivery of democratic dividends. “Victory at the polls translates to more work and greater responsibilities. The good people of Osun State have renewed their trust in us, and their expectations are higher,” Igbalaye said.

The SSG urged members and the various sub-committees to work closely with the Central Planning Committee to ensure a seamless and well-coordinated inauguration.

He described the ceremony as an opportunity for the administration to reaffirm its commitment to programmes and policies that would have direct impact on the lives of the people.

Adeleke is scheduled to be sworn in for a second term on Friday, November 27.

Meanwhile, unease is growing among some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun over Adeleke’s inclusion in the campaign council for President Bola Tinubu’s second-term bid.

The development has raised questions within the party over how the governor would balance his role in Tinubu’s campaign with his responsibilities to PDP candidates contesting National and state Assembly elections.

Party candidates are also looking forward to the governor’s active participation in their campaigns.

Adeleke is understood to have agreed to play a role in Tinubu’s re-election campaign in fulfilment of a political understanding reached during his own electioneering, leaving some PDP members concerned about the implications for party loyalty and the campaigns of its other candidates.
