The family of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has described the successful rescue of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her twin sons, Peter and Paul, as proof that stronger collaboration among security agencies, government institutions and citizens can help tackle Nigeria’s security challenges.
In a statement issued through Adelabu’s media aide, Femi Awogboro, the family confirmed that the victims had regained their freedom and were in good condition. It expressed gratitude to God, security operatives and Nigerians whose support contributed to the outcome, noting that the rescue demonstrated the impact of coordinated action against criminal activities.
The family commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his concern and commitment to the safety of Nigerians, while also acknowledging the support of Seyi Makinde during the period of captivity.
Special recognition was given to the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force, the Oyo State Police Command and the Department of State Services (DSS) for their roles in the intelligence-driven operation that led to the victims’ rescue.

According to the statement, the success of the operation underscored the importance of effective cooperation among security agencies in responding to kidnapping and other security threats.
While celebrating the development, the family stressed that insecurity remains a national challenge that cuts across political, ethnic and religious lines. It called for greater unity among stakeholders and citizens, insisting that sustained support for security institutions is critical to improving safety across the country.
The family also extended its thoughts to other kidnapping victims still being held captive and urged authorities to intensify efforts to secure their release. It encouraged Nigerians to remain vigilant, support lawful security efforts and work collectively towards building a safer and more secure nation.
