The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has officially elected Adebayo Olugbenga Adedamola, popularly known as Fryo, as its governorship candidate for the upcoming election.

The announcement was made by the party’s electoral committee, led by Humphery Abba, who reported that Adedamola received 919 votes out of the 957 delegates accredited for the primary election.

Abba stated, “There were 20 void votes out of the 957 accredited votes. Adebayo got 919 votes and is hereby returned as the governorship candidate of the PDP.”

He also noted that the committee had previously informed delegates that the second contestant, Ademola Adeleke, had left the party before the start of the election. As a result, Adedamola is now the sole candidate participating in the governorship race for the PDP.

With this victory, Adedamola is set to represent the PDP in the 2026 governorship election in Osun, amidst significant political developments within the party.
